What is Library Giving Day?​​​​​
Library Giving Day is an annual, national, one-day online fundraising event held in April that encourages patrons to donate to their local public libraries. The Bernardsville Library Foundation will once again be sponsoring in this most important one-day fundraiser to support our outstanding Bernardsville Public Library.
Key Aspects of Library Giving Day:

Purpose: This event, sponsored by the Bernardsville Library Foundation, will raise funds specifically for the purpose of closing the 2026 library budget gap of $50,000. Funds raised on Library Giving Day will help ensure that the 2026 operational needs of the Bernardsville Library are met.​

Timing: Library Giving Day will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.​

Impact: Donations to the Bernardsville Library Foundation on Library Giving Day will support all the incredible programs, services and materials provided by the outstanding Bernardsville Public Library, as well as helping to pay for library staffing, utilities, technology, and more. ​

The Bernardsville Library Foundation Board of Trustees

Who we are: The Bernardsville Library Foundation Board of Trustees is a group of Bernardsville citizens who love and support the Bernardsville Public Library, and who volunteer their time to raise funds for the Bernardsville Public Library.

When we meet: The Board of Trustees meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 in the Bernardsville Library Quiet Room

What we do: We have two purposes. First, we raise funds to close the annual municipal budget gap. Since 2011, the Foundation has granted the library more than $900,000 to close the annual gap in funding. Our second goal is to raise funds for the Bernardsville Library Foundation Endowment, which will support future library operations. With these two goals, the Foundation meets its Mission of providing private funding to support the Bernardsville Public Library, without regard to variations in municipal funding. Almost all the donations we receive, come from the patrons of the Bernardsville Library.

The Bernardsville Library Foundation is an all-volunteer nonprofit charitable organization whose fundraising efforts help maintain the excellent programs, books, music, movies, television programs, magazines and E-books offered to the citizens of Bernardsville and surrounding communities.
